TR-One - Rapid Town Link Disco

TR-One aka Broken Audio Movement are Eddie Reynolds, Paul Reynolds & Dean Feeney from Carlow, Ireland. They've been busy rocking dancefloors like it's 1999 for the last couple of years & will be rocking the bassment of the Twisted Pepper in Dublin this Saturday from 1-3am with their quality house, techno and electro records, so get your arses down for some serious booty shaking. They'll be playing 100% vinyl through a Function 1 soundsystem which promises to be a tip top night of dancing to proper dance music played through a proper soundsystem.

The lads have kindly put together an excellent mix for DBD in an italo/electro/techno stylee which happens to be the first DBD exclusive. This cherry was due to be popped by Brighton's Neal Lewis, but due to his taking, ahem, a little while getting it together the TR-One boys have beaten him to it. Exclusive this & that has been annoying me recently anyway. If a mix is good it's good & it's worth listening to no matter where it's from or who it knows! We had great difficulty receiving this mix to the Dublin Bus Towers, 3 messenger pigeons arrived with faulty copies of it, having braved the notorious Carlow - Dublin winds for 3 gruelling days & nights.

The mix is called "Rapid Town Link Disco" after Carlow's failed attempt at a Dublin Bus equivalent, good work lads!

TR-One - Rapid Town Link Disco - DBD Guestmix

They ain't just dj's, 2007 saw their debut release on Fine Art Recordings with their Inner Thoughts 12", & last years smash hit Mystery Train 12" on Nice & Nasty Records is still a firm favourite round these parts. Buy it here. The Mystery Train Instrumental on A2 is the one that really does it for me. The boys influences include "...Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Robert Hood, Omar S, Theo Parrish, Kenny Dixon Jnr, Marcellus Pittman, Richard D. James, Carl Craig, Kraftwerk, Underground Resistance..."

Bodytonic have just interviewed the guys here. There's a great new TR-One tune for free download on the interview page too.

To get a feel for the TR-One work ethic:

"...we began to realise and appreciate the endless virtues and possibilities of analogue based music."

"Do you use CDs when DJing? No. They sound horrific."

"We owe our musical heritage to the city of Detroit forever."
