80's House Mix All Y'All

The weekend is over peeps & there's no finer way to get in the mood for the next one than to listen to this beautiful 80's House mix put together by Jonathan Moore of Leftside Wobble. It's with great pleasure I host this on DBD, it's the first post containing proper *ackin' house music, and it's been a while coming - the post that is, not the mix.

I'll be jacking to this all week & can tell already I'll be playing this for a while to come. It's a happy coincidence that two Irish guys got Jonathan into house music in London in the 80's in the first place [Noel and Maurice Watson who ran the club Delirium, hence the mixes name - Delirious Influences]. Fast forward some years and as we discussed the idea of doing a mix for DBD, I thought it would be swell to have an oldschool Chicago flavoured mix up here, which got Jonathan digging through all his old house 12s. He told me he really enjoyed this process and I believe it - the love put into this mix is evident throughout.

Head over to Leftside Wobble for some great mixes covering all dance styles that matter, now!

Along with the mix, check out Jonathan's sleezy mid tempo 70's funk edit "Safari Kiss". For me this kind of mid-tempo groover is BBQ Disco. Perfect for the coming summer, which is going to be wonderful in case you were wondering! The orginal is on this LP if you need to find yourself a copy.
